Description:
Auctioned as "after Grancino probably Italian, 19th century" (Sotheby's, Item 135 November 14, 2000). One dealer cast doubt on the possible age (19th century) and nationality (Italian)attributed by Sotheby's. Does anyone know of instruments by Grancino that could substantiate that it is indeed "after" Gio. Grancino and not just labeled as such? Could it be a copy? Back is from one piece of slab cut maple of plain figure.
