| Robert LaMarchina was one of the great cellists of the 20th Century. He studied with Feuermann and Piatigorsky, among others. He was the youngest member of the NBC Orchestra and principal cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He became a conductor and put his cello aside, and thus perhaps his greatest talent. |
