This cell is dated 1943 and was carved by the Ukranian luthier, Dymitri Didztchenko--who later immigrated to the NY area. He is said to have been a Master to the Ukranian luthier, Zenon Petesh, who was known throughout Chicago. The cello has a full back plate of highly flamed maple. The styling is in the French tradition and the instrument is very beautiful. Its sound can be described as rich and true. I am also selling my ALFRED KNOLL full size cello bow with mother of pearl in-lay (recently rehaired) and my older, hard cello case. Thanks for your interest!
