I always wonder about people who swear by prayer
to help them perform. Is there some omnipotent
deity out there who is going to play the notes
for you or at least help you to play them? I am
inclined to think not. Rather, I think that the best
performances come from adequate preparation and general
confidence in oneself, which comes from the knowledge
that one's technique is secure enough to be able
to pull it off without any trouble. But I suppose
an atheist's point of view is not too popular these days.
