Thanks for the update!!! You are quite right regarding the "frightening" aspect to your news. I don't personally know Hoebig's playing, but the idea of going after a soloist-type with little orchestral experience IS disturbing. (I know that Brey did spend time in the Cleveland Orchestra, so he does have some orchestral experience.)
Worse yet are the situations where "maestri" want to hire very young players with zero experience to lead sections with the idea that the "maestri" will personally "train" the player. Slidemaster says. "B A H !!!"
