There are many problems with the wrong seatings and as you are new (I think) to the board I'll outline them briefly (being in wrong seating #1). #1 We are spread out over a large space making it very difficult to play as a section - some can't even see the principal cello. #2 It's very hard to hear - from an acoustical perspective (we are under the proscenium -is that the right word - the arch at the front of the stage ) which makes it more difficult, and the winds and brass are right in our ears. #3 It's too hot! - Cheryl
