That's great that you listen to other music. It can only benefit you. I play drums/percussion in a blues/rock/altenative band and in a progressive/alternative band. I play guitar in an alternative/cover band and sing in all three of those bands. I currently work as a studio musician playing drums and cello. I love being able to go back and forth from classical to whatever. To me, music is music.
