I played with my electric quartet at a promotional concert
to recruit kids for the elementary music program in my school
district. We played a fiddle piece (Cripple Creek) and
each of us played 'breaks' that we had written. My mom was
in the audience, and she said this third grade boy and his
friend were all excited when I played mine. After the concert
I made a point of standing outside the doors to show off my
electric cello and answer questions. Those two boys came up
to me and oohed and aahed...guess what? They signed up for
cello next year! Yay!!!
Just thought you guys might be interested to hear how cello
stacks up with the little kids these days.
