An addendum to my earlier recommendation:
There is a great deal of useful and interesting information about Du Pre's life and music in this book. Be prepared, though, for some BAD writing and editing which occasionally makes for slow going.
I'm amazed at some of the poor writing which the editor(s) let slide.
The book is definitely worth reading, despite this, however, for the new insights into Du Pre, Barenboim, Tortellier, Pleeth, Rostropovich, and music/cello in general.
