Lucky you! As a fellow Minneapolisean (I know that's not a word) I've found that there are ample opportunities here for cellists (and all musicians) . For starters, check out the Augsburg string program or the MacPhail Center for the Arts. As well as private teachers, Minneapolis offers GTCYS (Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies), MYS (Minnesota Youth Symphonies) and the All-State Orchestra. Look at their web pages or give them a call. They might be able to give you private teachers too. Oh, by the way, I'm kind of assuming you're high school aged or so. There's also the Shubert Club, composed of 7th through college students of all instruments. We play for each other in open and critiqued concerts, and we get special deals on tickets to places like Orchestra Hall. It's great! Anyway, I hope that gives you a starting point to finding your musical niche here. Good luck!
