your fingers will always give off fingerprints
no matter how often you wash your hands from grease.
the varnish is suppose to protect the cello from
things like this, so you should be able to wipe
it off.
I guess the best thing to do is carry a cloth
around all the time and wipe it off after your
done playing the cello.
