As a listener, I also would prefer to hear something easy played beautifully than something hard
played mediocre....I would not have even asked if this wasn't a "placement audition." None of my well
polished pieces use thumb position or have fast passages or hard chords/arpeggios, etc.. I want to be able
to show that I can do these things! When I start playing in these college level classes, I want these
sorts of things to be in the music, since I am ready for that. I want to challenge myself and play
music that will make me work! I guess what I was really wondering is, how can I show this in the pieces
I select to use for my audition?
