Well, I suppose in a way it is all your brain, because it sends the commands to the fingers, arm etc. but at the same time, when a piece has been played enough it becomes something more mechanical - you dont *think* before placing each finger down, do you? In fact, if I find myself thinking to much about the piece I'm playing (fingerings etc.), I usually stuff it up.
