I'm also going to try and find a more brass-oriented place to post my query, but I thought maybe somebody here could enlighten me a bit from the cellist's point of view...how do you play chamber music with a trumpet?
A: Fortissimo!
Actually, it may be possible. The trombone is one of the only non-transposing brass instruments, thus you could read trombone music without any problem. So all you need do is find a book of trumpet-trombone duets. I'm sure there are some out there.
