workshops for string players

A chance to find out what this extraordinary company of moving musicians is all about!
Workshops exploring ways of playing and moving which involve your whole body and personality. Working with theatre director, Lucy Bailey and violinist, Nell Catchpole, you will discover ways of extending musical expression through physical expression with an exciting 'performance language' full of humour and physical vitality.
The workshop will feed into your development as a string player in several areas including; musical/physical ensemble, stage presence and communication, your physical relationship with your instrument, and tensions associated with playing and performance. You don’t need to have any previous experience in theatre or dance in order to attend.
The workshops are open to string players (violin, viola, 'cello, or double bass) of 18 years or above who are of a professional standard or studying to become a professional player.
