I started at age 11, and by age 16 or so I was playing paying jobs. Although I wasn't very good then, and I'm still learning a lot even now, some 30 years later. I spent my first year doing 1/2 hour lessons, and practicing as little as possible, but then moved to a different teacher, and hour lessons, and started practicing at least an hour a day, and things started to really happen.
: The cello reasonably well, and how practice or lessons did you have?
