Finding a teacher
Ask around about teachers in your local area. You can contact the American
String Teachers Association, the Suzuki Association or your school director
for names and recommendations. The ICS has a searchable
membership directory and list of cello
teachers.
Renting or buying an instrument
Have your teacher or instrument dealer determine the size of cello that
you will need. It is usually a wise idea to rent until one learns to take
care of the instrument and ready to make an investment in a wood instrument
(plywood is okay at first)! Check your local phonebook for violin
shops/ luthiers for instrument rentals and supplies.
