Description:
The Israel String Quartet was founded in 1957 by four musicians from the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Although all the original members have changed since then, it has always been one of Israel’s finest chamber music ensembles. Since it was founded, the ISQ has remained faithful to its aims: To bring the best of chamber music to as many listeners as possible in Israel and abroad and to present, in addition to the regular classic-romantic repertoire, a wide selection of contemporary music in general and Israeli compositions in particular. The quartet is regularly invited to preform in Israel and abroad, and has toured in Europe (including Germany Switzerland, Netherlands, France, Spain,Portugal, Austria, Italy, England, Luxembourg, Croatia, Slovakia, Czech repulic and Scandinavia), Canada, the USA, Australia and Japan. The Israel String Quartet has recorded for RCA, JOD Classics and Nami Records , as well as for major broadcasting services.
