Israeli Cellist Benjamin Shapira is the winner of numerous competitions and awards, including Artists International Competition, Israeli Music Competition and more. Following in the footsteps of major artists of Israeli origin, Mr. Shapira's talent was recognized at a very early age. He was quickly embraced by the America Israel Cultural Foundation and the Jerusalem Music Center, both headed by Isaac Stern. Benjamin Shapira was also recognized as an "outstanding Musician" by the Israeli Government. |

Mr. Shapira frequently performs in some of the more challenging venues throughout the United States and abroad. Last May he performed the Six Suites for Solo Cello by Bach at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall. The concert was completely sold out and very warmly received by the audience and the press.
In constant demand both as concerto soloist and in solo recitals, Mr. Shapira's upcoming season includes tours to New York, Chicago, Texas, California and more. Shapira's debut CD, "A Family Portrait," was praised by Mix Magazine as "emotional and strong," and is the first in a series that includes the highly anticipated relase of a CD featuring the Six Suites for Cello Solo by Bach.
