OLE MORTEN GIMLE

I was born in 1960 in Halden, Norway. I first studied cello with Omar Børresen and Geir Tore Larsen.

Later I studied in Oslo, Norway at the Norwegian State Academy of Music with professor Aage Kvalbein. I have done post-graduate studies in Utrecht, Holland, with professor Dimitri Ferschtman.

Since 1983 I have been a tutti cellist in the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, chief conductor Mariss Jansons. Rehearsals and concerts are given in the Oslo Konserthus (the Oslo Concert Hall).
